Paul is a Principal Consultant with a deep background in research and analysis. Paul relishes challenging search assignments where the ideal candidate background is complex and nuanced. He has worked with a number of clients including Square, Waymo, and ChargeLab on roles ranging from Head of AI Research to Chief Product and Technology Officer. Paul began his recruiting career at the firm as the Head of Research, and rejoined the firm in 2021 after working at other internationally-focused executive recruiting firms. Prior to his work in recruiting, Paul was a faculty member of the Communications Department at Western Washington University where he taught classes on persuasion, public policy, and persuasion; and was Assistant Director of Forensics (debate). Paul is a co-author of the book Understanding Argument: the Journey from Consumer to Critic, Critic to Advocate.
Paul has a BA in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College where he was debate team president and won a collegiate national championship. In his spare time, you can find Paul exploring the natural environment around his home in Southern Oregon.
