Kirsten Fristad


Kirsten is a new member of our research team. Most recently Kirsten was an Instructor in the Geology and Physics departments at Western Washington University. Kirsten has a deep background in science including roles at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Ames Research Center in Mars exploration and astrobiology. She has a PhD from the University of Oslo, and a BA with Honors in Geology and Physics from Macalester College. Fun Facts about Kirsten: She can carry on conversations in Norwegian about skiing or the weather, publishes research on volcanism and mass extinctions, and is renovating her first home in Bellingham.
