Principal Consultant


Using her extensive experience in higher education, civil rights, and civic engagement, April is a Principal who identifies senior product, engineering, and IT talent leaders who are both technically and culturally aligned with hyper-growth and public companies.

She joined the firm after 25 years of shaping campus and intellectual life at Columbia, Emory, and Harvard universities; improving the efficacy of the civil rights agenda of the NAACP; convening scholars, policymakers, artists, advocates, and activists to encourage meaningful civic participation as founder and president of Civic Frame, Inc. and Civic Frame Presents Amplify America; and helping people heal from broken family bonds live resplendently.

An avid lacrosse, basketball, soccer, and golf fan, she practices Vipassanā meditation, HOT 26 yoga, Usui Reiki (Master), and impeccable minimalism.

April loves juicing, art museums, live dance and music performances, independent and documentary films, other people’s dogs, and meeting strangers who become friends. She also takes voice lessons and aspires to do a duet with Jacob Collier and be a guest backup singer for Sting.

She earned degrees in Islamic Studies from Kenyon College, Higher Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and African American Religious History from Harvard Divinity School.
